What the acronyms mean

MYR / RM

Malaysian Ringgit, Malaysia's currency. MYR is the international currency code and RM is the symbol; both mean the same thing.

AUD

Australian Dollar.

EPF

Employees Provident Fund. Malaysia's compulsory retirement savings scheme. Both the employer and the employee contribute each month.

SOCSO

Social Security Organisation (PERKESO). Covers employees for workplace injury and invalidity.

EIS

Employment Insurance System. Provides temporary financial help to employees who lose their job.

HRDF

Human Resources Development Fund (HRD Corp) levy. An employer-only levy that funds staff training and development.

PCB

Potongan Cukai Bulanan, the monthly income tax deduction. It is the employee's tax, deducted from their salary, and is not an employer cost, so it is not included here.

PR

Permanent Resident of Malaysia. This calculator uses the rates for Malaysian citizens and PR employees under 60.

RBA

Reserve Bank of Australia, the source of the monthly exchange rates used for the AUD amounts.
